T.L.A.S.I. ~ Together Lobbying Against Suffering Internationally

Week 1: This first week we decided the group name, hand shake, and learned more about Human Rights. We listed some organizations that we could study about. There were some guest speakers that introduced us to some of those organizations. Some of the guest speakers were Mr. Z, Mrs. Price, Hannah Lee, and the Dewey's (via Skype). We felt scared about EX!!.

Week 2: Our goals were to watch a Human Rights video. The other one was to add a organizations to a Google Doc. Some of the questions were why are so many Human rights are denied. Now we felt EX!! was not as scary as we thought in week one. Our goals were to chose an organization to work with in this project and ask Mrs. Price about the website. Also there was other guest speakers like: Mr. Mike and Ms. Parslow. The only bad thing this week was we were still confused about what our organization would be.

Week 3: We did the Simulation game of the Human Rights that was about schooling, bank, hospital, and the toilet. Lukas’ says “The simulation has been one of my favorite activity's this far!”Our goals was to choice the human right and organization. We talked with our group to choose our organization. And we Did! Our organization is Kotiala Woman's and Children Hospital. That organization is about the hospital that to help the women’s when they had a baby. We had the conflict when we chose the organization. In Wook said that he want to do Amnesty. Tatiana said she would like to learn more about Compassion International. However we were open minded to our group by letting them to choose Kotiala Organization.

Week 4: Our goals for this week were to persuade others to an organization, listen to guest speakers, and talk about souses and questions. Some of our questions were when will we start researching, What dose our organization do and when was it made? To achieve our goal we listened to the teacher about our organization and learned more. Our group was being inquirer because we asked many question and to find the answer.

Week 5: This week we started our source cards and we also made our big fat questions. We advised with each other about the questions. In Wook went to the library to get the books. Also  Lukas and Scott went to the computer and to find information from wed sites. Tatiana did the source cards. Our group said “Yes!! The actual process has started!” We were really excited that step four in the big six has started and we cold go out and seek information. We are loving Ex!! so far!

Week 6: We started our note card. We also finished our source card. We started to read some books and we learn about Mali and the Koutiala Hospital. This week we also spent a lot of time organizing and getting ready to interview with the O’Neill’s and we are very excited. The only was that Ms. Anderson was gone.

Week 7: This week, our goals were to do our interview with the doctor and the O’Neill’s and then take notes on it. We achieved this goal by taking more than 15 note cards. Some of our questions are about  how we are going to give? Tatiana quotes “ This week was exhausting but it was worth it because we wrote so many note cards.” We fell so good because Mr Loeber said “You guys are doing Great!”!

Week 8: This week our goal was to brain storm and start a script for chapels about fundraising for the Koutiala hospital. Script is started and we added some images and text to a Keynote. We also graded ourselves on the mid-EX reflection. Completed note cards and now we’ll need to start the next level of writing. According to Lukas, Scott was the communicator...too bad that has changed now. “We feel excited because we are going to do the next level of writing and so far EX is going smoothly...In Wook.”

Week 9: Our goal was to finish our script and Keynote for chapel. We have done that, but now we are editing. We still need to work on changing the big text into notes for us to read, and bullets or keywords for the audience. We also began typing our note cards into google docs so we can work on them from home. We re-read our note cards and organized them more. This coming week we want to type all of the note cards into the google doc and make our Keynote better. We are looking forward to presenting the presentation after spring break.

Week 10: This week our goals were to finish typing up our note cards in a google doc, and work on our fund rising chapel presentation. Our whole group didn’t actually fulfill any of last weeks goals so we need to work a bit harder. This EX!! time, we kept on typing our note cards which we finished researching. We also started brainstorming about how we can present the final EX!! project. We think it was the best week.

Week 11: Today, our group finish typing our note cards and editing too. We worked on the Keynote for fund raising for next week. We now understand that the fund raising presentation will go well. We used cooperation skills by cooperating with our group to rehearsal the presentation for High and Middle School. “Today is a good day” In Wook said.

Week 12: This week we got a lot accomplished! We went to the chapel and preformed five successful times! Then We completed our action by sitting out by the grand staircase and the middle school covered area! It was AWESOME! We raised so much money! We had to sit through lunch and recess, but Lukas said it was worth it. The groups we had were Lukas and In Wook ,then the other one was Scott and Tatiana. We have started to working on our final presentation. We all have jobs and are all excited about the final presentation. This week has been Great!!!

Week 13: “This week was so full but we finished some things,” says Tatiana. In Wook’s goals was to finish his brochure and he finished it. Our group goal was to start and finish all the presentation and practice it by Friday. All we need to do now is work on the poster and the model. Our group goal for this up coming week is to finish every thing and do well on presentation night. Tatiana was working on the poster all week and would have finished but the printer was having a big problem because the printer wasn’t working. Our group thinks the worst problem was when the printer wasn’t working properly and it held us up a little bit. All of it summed up it was a great week where we got many things accomplished!
